Every time your computer, phone or tablet tries to access something on the internet it has to look up the location that it will find the resources. In much the same way that you would use Directory Enquiries to find the phone number of someone you want to call. This service has multiple options that can help you to protect your home better.

DNS – Domain Name Service
The Directory Enquiries of the Internet, every time you enter a domain into a browser or your device tries to access content on the internet, it will need to use the DNS Service (yes we too love it when an abbreviation has to have a letter form the abbreviation added to the end to make sense…)
There is not a single DNS in the world, rather every Internet Service Provider (ISP) runs their own. However many businesses run their own internally and an increasing number of homes are installing their own as well. Many do it for the privacy aspect after all, ISP’s are known to sell the data they collect about websites that homes use.
The challenge and what we at Wor-Kids want to change is that today if you want to take control of your DNS, you have to at the very least buy your own Router, this can then be pointed to a suitable DNS provider.
At Wor-Kids we would like to see Governments protect their citizens by offering unlogged DNS offerings. In the UK to protect out children there should be at least two but possibly three would be ideal.
